Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using RankerStory, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Service description

RankerStory provides digital tools for JEE preparation, including Insight Lab, Error Mirror, RankFix, Doubt Solver, Daily practice, PYQ Lab, and related analytics. Features may evolve over time.

Educational disclaimer: Content — including AI-generated explanations — may be incomplete or incorrect. The service is not a substitute for teachers, counselors, or official exam guidance. Always verify critical information with trusted sources.

3. Eligibility

You must have capacity to contract under Indian law. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must review and agree to these Terms on your behalf where required. The service is operated with India as the primary market.

4. Accounts

• Provide accurate registration information
• Keep credentials confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account
• One personal account per user; do not share login access
• Notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized use

5. Free trial

• The free trial is opt-in only (you must explicitly start it). It is not started automatically at signup.
• Duration: 14 days of full product access (as then offered).
• No payment method is required to start the trial.
• Generally one trial per user / account (anti-abuse controls apply).
• The trial does not auto-charge you. Paid access requires a separate Stripe Checkout after the trial (or if you subscribe without using a trial).

6. Subscription

• Launch plan: ₹1,499 INR per year (Standard). You may subscribe with or without first using the trial.
• Renewals and cancellations are managed through Stripe (including the Customer Portal where available).
• If you cancel, access typically continues until the end of the paid period already purchased (current_period_end), then ends unless you resubscribe.
• Without an active trial or valid paid entitlement, product features are hard-gated until you start a trial or subscribe.
• Premium or other tiers shown as “Coming soon” are not available for purchase until we enable them.

7. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown in INR. Checkout may offer UPI, cards, and other methods Stripe enables for your location. Applicable taxes (including GST, if configured) may appear at checkout. You authorize Stripe to charge the selected payment method for the plan you choose and for renewals unless cancelled.

8. Refunds & cancellation

You may cancel renewal anytime via the billing portal or by contacting support@rankerstory.com.

Default refund policy: Except where Indian consumer law gives you a non-waivable right, or in cases of duplicate/erroneous charges, we do not refund partial unused periods after a successful annual charge. We will correct clear billing errors (for example duplicate charges). Stripe dispute rights remain available under card network rules.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Abuse AI, APIs, or rate limits; scrape or bulk-extract content
• Share accounts, resell access, or circumvent paywalls
• Upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing content
• Attempt to disrupt security, reverse engineer, or interfere with the service

10. Intellectual property

RankerStory and its software, branding, and materials are owned by us or our licensors. You retain rights in content you submit; you grant us a license to host and process that content solely to provide and improve the service.

11. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, abuse, non-payment, or legal risk. When you no longer have trial or paid access, product features may be blocked until you restore entitlement. Provisions that by nature should survive (IP, disclaimers, liability, governing law) survive termination.

12. Disclaimers & liability

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis for educational use. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular result (including exam rank), and accuracy of AI outputs.

Subject to non-excludable rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and other Indian law, our aggregate liability arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid to us for the service in the twelve (12) months before the claim (or ₹1,000 if you paid nothing). Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Bengaluru, India, shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer forum rights that apply to you.
